Vista-Group at Yahoo Groups Vista-Group ยท My*Vista*PC Group Website: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Vista-Group/ RSS: http://rss.groups.yahoo.com/group/Vista-Group/rss Group Description: [group theme] Welcome to our Vista-Group Yahoo Groups launched JANUARY 2008. Here we go again.... As Webmaster of the BlueCollarPC.Net, I started right on Windows XP in year 2001 as it was released and also Windows Mobile CE 3.0 (Pocket PC 2002). It all had that 'state of the art' feel and was/is. Here we go again. Windows Vista has been out for months and Windows Mobile is recently as Version 6.0. (Fall, 2007). Just as Windows XP required always checking for the "XP Logo" on softwares and it took the industry adjustment to catch up - it all seems almost that legendary release is now another brand new 'state of the art' feel in Vista. I think as Windows XP diehards - we have run out of excuses ! TIPS: Basic Version is kind of non-intrusive, but if you go mobile (Laptop/Notebook) or are setting up Home Network - you definately want at least Premium Version with all those wizards settings included (like XP users accustomed to) and especially the battery optimization settings in the Vista Premium OS (Operating System). Waiting for Windows Vista SP1 to come out? (You are out of excuses!) http://bluecollarpc.net/wordpress/?p=22 .....VIST OUR VISTA WEBPAGE FOR INFORMATION LINKS AND MORE ..... All Welcome.... Webmaster of the BlueCollarPC.Net and the BlueCollarPC.Org Any Official Microsoft Patch, Fix, Updates are posted as well as any general computing Security Alerts.

Linux-Ducks at Yahoo Groups Group Website: http://rss.groups.yahoo.com/group/Linux-Ducks/rss RSS: http://rss.groups.yahoo.com/group/Linux-Ducks/rss Group Description: Linux Ducks ~ Linux OS for older Windows...Welcome to Linux Ducks, launched April 15 2007.... Linux Ducks is for the average user or interested person in the Linux alternate Operating Systems for the Home or Home/Office computer. We have no programmers degrees but all the technically savyy and developers are very welcome to join in. Group Owner is the webmaster of the Windows computing security website and groups the www.BlueCollarPC.Net and will be posting much in the way of Linux Security here. Since Microsoft has discontinued support for all except WindowsXP SP2 and Vista OS (year 2007) - the Linux OS now seems to be the definate alternative simply for ongoing security in computing unless you wish to pay Microsoft for Windows Critical Updates - me neither. Linux Ducks is going to focus on all the free or open source / donate wares available for all fun and practical things to do with your new Linux OS. We begin with the free open source Ubuntu Linux OS which is about smallest on resources for older computers and free / donate. First TIP: Look for "dual boot" in choices for a Linux OS that will allow Linux OS and Windows/Mac Operating Systems (OS) to both operate on the computer. (You can always eventually wipe - erase Windows from the computer later). Linux OS is now the perfect alternative for "Refurbished Computers" - so pull out the old 98 and get refurbishing ! Linux Ducks is an open community and in RSS syndication - click icon below....
